With the slogan ‘We will destroy Aedes mosquito and create a dengue-free city’, a dengue prevention campaign began in all the under construction projects of REHAB members in Chattogram city on Wednesday.
With the slogan ‘We will destroy Aedes mosquito and create a dengue-free city’, the REHAB launched the campaign with the support of Chattogram City Corporation (CCC).
The campaign began under the leadership of Vice President of REHAB and Chairman of Chattogram Regional Committee Abdul Kauiam Chowdhury.
CCC Mayor Md Rezaul Karim inaugurated the Dengue Prevention Campaign at DevPahar, College Road on Wednesday morning.
REHAB has started dengue prevention campaign in all the under construction projects of Rehab members in Chattogram city. Aedes mosquito extermination campaign will continue with regular fogger machines in the projects under construction of REHAB members during monsoon season.
Abdul Kauiam Chowdhury said, the outbreak of "dengue fever" has taken a terrible shape everywhere in the country, especially in urban areas. Therefore, in order to make Chattogram dengue free, Rehab has started a dengue prevention campaign in the projects under construction of Rehab members.
CCC Mayor said that to make Chattogram city free from dengue, city residents should be aware along with city corporation. Everyone should keep their houses clean so that the Aedes mosquito cannot lay eggs and breed. At this time, he appreciated the timely initiative taken by REHAB to prevent dengue and assured all kinds of cooperation from the City Corporation to conduct the dengue prevention campaign of REHAB.
Aedes mosquitoes lay eggs and breed in stagnant clear water. To prevent the spread of Aedes mosquitoes and the Aedes mosquito-borne disease “Dengue”, it is recommended to regularly clean your project and all areas where water accumulates, including roofs, flower pots, abandoned car tires, can shells, soft drink cans.
