Delays hit highly-anticipated releases: ‘Kajol Rekha’ and ‘Dorod’

Entertainment enthusiasts will need to exercise patience as the release dates for two much-anticipated films, Giasuddin Selim's "Kajol Rekha" and Anonno Mamun's directorial venture starring Shakib Khan, titled "Dorod," have been pushed back. The primary reason for this delay is attributed to the scheduling conflicts arising from the recently concluded 12th Parliamentary Elections.

Originally slated for release on February 2, "Kajol Rekha" by Giasuddin Selim has encountered a delay in its release due to bureaucratic formalities. Selim revealed, "Although most of the post-production work is complete, as the film is government-financed, it is mandatory for the Minister for Information and Broadcasting to view the film first. His approval is a prerequisite before submitting it to the Bangladesh Censor Board for nationwide release." While the film's release was initially set for February, Selim expressed optimism that it may be available to audiences sometime between February and March, pending the necessary approvals.

Similarly, the release of 'Dorod,' featuring Shakib Khan and Bollywood actress Sonal Chauhan, has been postponed for several reasons. Director Anonno Mamun, in a recent video message, shared his intention to take additional time to deliver an exceptional cinematic experience to the audience. Mamun mentioned, "We are planning something bigger for our audience and, in the meantime, will engage in interactive promotional activities with Shakib Khan's fans." The film, dubbed in four languages and set for a simultaneous release in 30 countries, requires more time for meticulous preparation. In a unique approach to promotions, Mamun has refrained from releasing even the poster, emphasizing, "This strategy is aimed at benefiting the film industry. We are actively working towards releasing the movie's songs through the renowned Indian label T-Series, which would be immensely advantageous for us."

"Kajol Rekha," inspired by the mythological character of the same name from the Maimansingha Gitika, boasts an ensemble cast, including Shariful Razz, Rafiath Rashid Mithila, Sahana Rahman Sumi, Sadia Ayman, Azad Abul Kalam, Iresh Zaker, Khairul Bashar, Rahmat Ali, Gaoshul Alam Shaon, and others.

Meanwhile, the Pan-Indian film "Dorod," jointly produced by SK Movies, One World Movies, Bangladesh's Action Cut Entertainment, and Kibria Films, is a psychological thriller set to hit screens in six languages, including Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Bengali, across 30 countries."
