A deed-writer was killed in a road accident in Navaron Old Bazar area under Sharsha upazila of the district on the Jashore-Benapole Highway on Tuesday night.
The deceased was identified as deed-writer Ashraful Islam, 36, son of Nazrul Islam of Basotpur village of Baghachra union in the upazila.
According to police and eyewitness, the accident occurred while Ashraful Islam was returning home from Godkhali area in Jhikorgacha upazila riding a motorcycle, his bike collided head-on with a truck coming from the opposite direction around 9:00pm, leaving him dead on the spot, sub-inspector (SI) of Navaron Highway Mofizur Rahman said.
Police seized the truck from the spot. A case was filed with Sharsha thana in this connection.
