Debottar property being devoured by pond

The debottar (endowed/­deity) property of 200-yr old Sheetol Mata Temple is being eroded into a pond-water due to re-excavation of the pond without making any protection guide.

The incident has created a huge anger among the people of Gosaipur under Tetulia union of Manda upazila in Naogaon district.

Villagers informed, the old Sheetal Mata Temple is situated beside the Chalkosba (Kailgain) waterbody of the upazila. At the first week of every Bangla month of Jaistha, religious puja (worship) and archona (rites) are held and the he-goats are sacrificed. 41 decimals of land surrounding the temple are endowed property.  A personal pond at the east side of the property has recently been re-excavated without keeping any protection platform beside it. 

As a result the endowed land of the temple is being devoured in pond water. Kartik Ch Mondol of Gosaipur village informed local people measured the land with the help of a Surveyor but the owner of the pond was continuing the excavation of the pond alongside the land of the temple.  

Rabindranath Sarker of the same village said, a part of the endowed property has already been devoured in pond water.
