Abdul Gani, Chairman of Debhata Upazila Parishad of Satkhira and former commander of Upazila Muktijoddha Sangsad, died of Covid-19. He was 65.
Abdul Gani, also former Industry and Commerce Secretary of district Awami League, died at a specialized hospital in Dhaka on Thursday night.
His son Abdur Razzak Rony said his father was at home quarantine due to fever. As his condition deteriorated, he was taken to Dhaka where he died at a specialized hospital.
Sajia Afrin, Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) of Debhata, confirmed that Abdul Gani had died of Covid-19.
Abdul Gani will be buried in his family graveyard after Janaza.
