DC to honour schoolboys for stopping train to avert accident

 Students who managed to stop a running train from facing an imminent accident are going to be awarded for their courage and heroic deed by the Deputy Commissioner of Naogaon.

It is learnt, recently some juvenile students managed to stop Dinajpur bound intercity Ekota Express train at a point of Borboria village under Raniangar upazila in the evening of November 1 by hoisting their shirts, napkin, vests and by lighting torch of the mobile phones to avert imminent accident because a part of railway track was broken due at the point due to extreme heat.

Al Mamun, Upazila Nirbahi Officer of Raniangar informed, in the evening of November-1, a part of railway track was broken at Borboria point of Raniangar which the local students watched and sensing the Dianjppur bound train Ekota Express from Dhaka would pass through the point soon, they stood beside the railway track and signalled the driver of the train by hoisting their shirts, vests and napkin by tying those with bamboo sticks and by putting red-light of their mobile phones on. By watching the signal, the driver stopped the train. As a result, lives of several thousand train passengers were saved.

The students who stopped the train through using their ready-wit have been identified as class seven students Taim Islam, Badhan, Arif, Rakib Khan, Himel of Borobaria village and Antor, Biplob and Ibrahim of Govindapur village.

Deputy Commssioner of Naogoan will award those students with prizes and certificates for their courageous deed during the District Law and Order Meeting on November 11.
