The case filed against Prothom Alo senior peporter Rozina Islam with Shahbag Police Station, was shifted to Detective Branch of Dhaka Metropolitan Police.
Mishu Biswas, additional deputy commissioner of DMP (DB- Ramna Division) confirmed the matter.
Rozina was kept confined at the health ministry for more than five hours on Monday before being handed over to police.
Later she was shown arrested in the case on charges of stealing important government documents.
Meanwhile, different journalist organisations are holding protest rally in front of National Press Club against harassment of Rozina Islam.
Journalists gathered in front of the press club on Wednesday morning and formed human chain under different organisations including BFUJ ( Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalist), Bangladesh Secretariat Reporters Forum (BSRF), Bangladesh Photo Journalist Association and Rangpur Divisional Journalist Association (RDJA).
They demanded immediate release of Rozina Islam.
Besides, they urged the government for punishment of the accused people.
