Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police on Wednesday arrested two fraudulences who claimed themselves as staff of Prime Minster.
Talking to the Bangladesh Post, Moshiur Rahman, Deputy Commissioner of DB’s Gulshan Division confirmed it on Thursday.
They were identified as MdAyub Ali,53 and Md Masud Rana, 37.
Ayub and Masud were cheating various people introducing themselves as PM’s Personal Secretary-2 and Masud Protocol Officer respectively.
DC Moshiur said, “ Getting secret information, a team of DB led by ADC Golam Saklain raided at Mirpur area in the city on Wednesday night and nabbed the two fraudulences along with a private car.”
We also seized huge numbers of visiting cards including of Sheikh Javed Iqbal Tinku, Presidium Member of Awami League backed Jubo League Central Committee and stamp of Monzila Faruque, Protocol Officer of PM, he added.
Besides, huge numbers of DO letters were also seized from their possessions.
We are primarily suspecting that all these documents are fake, said DC Moshiur.
During their primary interrogation, the arrested criminals had admitted that they were cheating people using their fake identities for long time.
They earned a lot of money through such illegal activities using names of some important persons.
They were taking drugs regularly and were leading luxurious life style using their illegal money.
Two cases were filed against them with Mirpur Model Police Station in this regard.
