CVASU provides free animal healthcare in Feni flood-hit areas

Free medical care for animals and cattle feed were provided at various flood-affected areas in Feni with the initiative of Chattogram Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (CVASU).

Senior Deputy Director (Public Relations) of CVASU Khalilur Rahman confirmed the matter on Monday.

Two specialist veterinary teams of Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the university provided free medical care for animals and cattle feed at Purba Shonapur village in Feni Sadar upazila and Dakkhin Sree Chandrapur village under Gmhat union in Fulgazi upazila on 3rd and 4th September.

Member of specialist medical team and Director of CVASU Directorate of Veterinary Clinics, Professor Dr Bhajan Chandra Das, said almost two hundred flood-affected families were provided with free medical care for animals and cattle feed during the veterinary camping. Diseases such as foot rot, scurvy, lumpy skin disease, mineral deficiency, duck plague, acidosis and papillomatosis were more commonly detected during this time.

CVASU Associate Professor Dr Md Ahaduzzaman, Associate Professor Dr Saiful Bari, Associate Professor Dr Md Anowar Parvez, Feni Upazila Livestock Officer Dr Md Shohidul Islam Khokon, Fulgazi Upazila Livestock Officer Dr Mohammad Ruhul Amin and masters and intern students studying in Department of Medicine and Surgery of CVASU were in the medical teams among the others.
