Chattogram Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (CVASU) has appointed the retired professor of Bangladesh Agricultural University Dr Kamal as treasurer for four years. He joined the post of treasurer on Wednesday morning.
He was appointed as treasurer for 4 years through the notification issued by the Ministry of Education on the orders of the President and Chancellor of the University Md Abdul Hamid.
Dr. Kamal, retired Professor of Technology Department of Fisheries Faculty of Bangladesh Agricultural University was born in Teknaf Upazila of Cox's Bazar in 1953. He obtained BSc in Fisheries (Hons) and MSc in Fisheries Technology from Bangladesh Agricultural University. Later, he obtained an MSc in Food Quality Control and Analysis from Kagoshima University, Japan and a separate MSc in Aquaculture from the Asian Institute of Technology, Thailand. He obtained his PhD from the University of Tokyo, Japan. He completed post graduation in food science from Ibaraki University, Japan after obtaining his Ph.D.
Dr.Kamal joined Bangladesh Agricultural University as a lecturer in 1977 and retired in 2019. During his career, he conducted research activities in domestic and foreign universities along with teaching. He served as National Consultant and Project Director in various government projects. He worked as a visiting professor at Tokyo University in Japan for a long time.
CVASU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Gautam Buddha Das felicitated Dr Kamal with flowers after joining the post of Treasurer. After that, floral greetings were given by various organizations including Teachers Association, Progressive Teachers Forum, Officers Association, Employees Union.
The newly appointed Treasurer Professor Dr Kamal paid tribute to the mural of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman installed in the University by offering flowers.
