Omicron, a new strain of Covid-19 virus, is now found in 24 countries around the world.  Omicron infected people have been identified in India as well as Bangladesh.  Chattogram Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (CVASU) has collected kits to identify this horrible Omicron.  With this kit, it will be possible to know if you are infected with the virus within 3-5 hours.

Meanwhile, Chattogram Veterinary Animal Science University (CVASU) authorities said that they have brought some special reagents (kits) from abroad as a preliminary measure to identify the new variant of corona virus Omicron.

CVASU Vice-Chancellor Gautam Buddha Das said about 100 kits had already been brought from abroad last Sunday.  The cost is about 1 lakh 60 thousand taka.  If anyone returning from abroad has corona symptoms, it will be possible to know whether they have Omicron type or not through this kit.  However, it is possible to understand whether or not a hundred percent of Omicron is infected by genome sequencing.

The kits will arrive at CVASU.  The price of this kit is much higher.  So far, no one was able to send in the perfect solution, which is not strange.  However, the rate of infection is high.

Meanwhile, the administration in Chattogram has made strong preparations to deal with the new type of corona virus, Omicron Wave.  In addition to keeping doctors and nurses ready, screening has been intensified at Chattogram Shah Amanat International Airport and Seaport.

Chattogram Divisional Health Director Dr Hasan Shahriar Kabir said, "Foreign returnees are being quarantined.  If there are symptoms, collect samples and send them here.  We will be able to report the results in 3-5 hours. '
