8 lakh 80 thousand sticks (440 cartons) and 300 pieces of dry tobacco were seized from the luggage of two passengers at Shah Amanat International Airport in Chittagong. As a result, the customs officials have stopped the mischievous attempt of evading revenue of Tk 13 lakh.
The airport customs team seized the cigarettes on Wednesday. Chittagong Customs Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Salahuddin Rizvi confirmed the matter.

He said 440 cartons of Easy Brand, Dry Tobacco were found in the luggage of two passengers arriving at Shah Amanat Airport on Air Arabia Airlines G-9522 flight from Sharjah at 7.30 pm on Tuesday.
240 cartons of Easy brand and 40 pieces of dry tobacco are available from Md Tayab, 200 cartons of Easy brand and 250 pieces of dry tobacco are available from Md. Harunur Rashid. These cigarettes have been confiscated in favor of the state.
