The curfew in Chattogram will be eased by the administration for 14 hours on Saturday. Curfew will be enforced again with a break of 14 hours from 6:00am to 8:00pm on this day.
This message was sent to the media by the Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) on Friday evening. CMP Additional Deputy Commissioner (Media) Kazi Md Tarek Aziz said that a relief in public life has originated due to the imposition of curfew in the wake of anarchy and conflict in the country. As many offices and factories are open on Saturday, people have to go out for various needs. On the other hand, the situation is gradually becoming normal. It is still ongoing. Curfew has been relaxed for 14 hours on Saturday from 6:00am to 8:00pm. After that the curfew will be imposed again. Chattogram Metropolitan Police has requested the city dwellers to abide by the curfew.
The government announced a nationwide curfew from the night of July 19 amid the violence centering quota reform movement and vandalism across the country.
However, gradually the curfew is being relaxed as the situation is becoming normal. Curfew was relaxed from 9:00am to 6:00pm for three days on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday (24, 25 and 26 July) on the decision of the local administration.
