In a bid to take the top spot of the points table in the ongoing Bangabandhu BPL the star-studded Cumilla Victorians and Fortune Barisal will face each others today at the Sylhet Stadium.
Both the teams earned equal nine points when Cumilla played six matches and Barisal played seven with the former are leading the table by virtue of better run rate.
Before today’s encounter Cumilla Victorians conceded one defeat out of their six outings while Fortune Barisal suffered defeats two off their seven matches.
In their first meeting Cumilla had a comfortable 63 runs win over Barisal when the stars like Shakib and Bravo could not shine with their batting.
Today it would be a different ball game when the fate of Barisal will depend on the real form of Shakib Al Hassan, Dwayne Bravo, Chris Gayle and Muji Ur Rahmann. On the other hands Cumilla Victorians are eyeing to how Moeen Ali, Faf Du Plessis, Imrul Kayes, Sunil Narine and Mustafizur Rahman will react.
Both the favourites essentially will have to show their best to take lead, though Barisal were humbled by Cumilla in their last match being all-out for paltry 95 runs chasing to Barisal’s 158.
It is also an opportunity for Barisal to take revenge of their last match defeat and can also hoping to do and there are good reason for them to believe so, if stars like Shakib, Bravo, Gayle and Mujeeb could fire with their bats and ball.
Cumilla Victorians also have all weapons to over shadow their counterparts and to keep up their winning streak over the Barisal Fortune when Moeen Ali Ali, Faf Du Plessis Imrul Kayes and Mustafiz are well enough to the job utterly.
Both the sides will supposed to test each others with their spinners mostly and in this respect Mustafiz and Sunil Narine of Cumilla and Shakib Al Hassan and Mujeeb Ur Rahman will be the major aspects.
