Chattogram University of Engineering and Technology (CUET) is the first public university in the country to enter the era of digital documents (D-documents).
State Minister of Information and Communication Technology Junaid Ahmed Palak inaugurated the first phase of the D-document program of 8 universities in the country at the Bangladesh Grants Commission (UGC) office on Sunday.
Meanwhile, CUET Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Mohammad Rafiqul Alam started the process on behalf of CUET by sending a letter to the ICT Department by logging in with his digital ID.
CUET Registrar (Additional Charge) Professor Dr. Sheikh Mohammad Humayun Kabir, IICT System Analyst Engineer Tauhidur Rahman and Deputy Registrar SM Mokhtarul Mostafa were present at UGC. University officials were connected virtually from the CUET Academic Council Chamber.
Its mentioned that through the D-document process, the university files will be processed following the digital system. Approvers at all levels, including the vice chancellor, can approve files from anywhere at any time. This will reduce the cost of university time as well as ensure paper savings, transparency and accountability. Besides, mobility will increase in administration and academic fields.
