Chittagong university central students' union (CUCSU) and hall parliament elections have been postponed. The elections will now be held on October 15. The university administration has taken this decision in view of the demands of the candidates. The schedule for CUCSU and Hall Parliament was announced on August 28. According to the schedule, the elections were to be held on October 12.
After the meeting of the CUCSU Election Commission on Tuesday, Commission Secretary Professor AKM Ariful Haque Siddiqui gave this information to journalists.
He said that the university will be closed from September 28 to October 2 for Durga Puja. Therefore, the candidates will not get enough time for election campaigning. Therefore, considering their application, the Election Commission has scheduled the elections of CUCSU and Hall Sangsad for October 15 instead of October 12.
