Vice-Chancellor (VC) of Chittagong University Dr. Shireen Akhtar said, “The mind of Cox's Bazar’s people are like the sea. I am a daughter of this tourist district and I grew up in the Kasturaghat area of the town. At that time, it was very hard for girls to continue their studies and there were a lot of social prejudice around. However, the scenario have changed entirely snice then”.

She also added, “Our country became independent under the dynamic leadership of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. And now his daughter our Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is taking the nation ahead vigorously.

However, energetic youth is needed to form the Shonar Bangla of Bangabandhu’s dream. Therefore, we have to educate our children in a good way, then the children will stay away from all crimes including drugs”.

The VC said these as the chief guest while addressing a reunion programme of SSC examination batch of 1993 organised by ‘Amra-93 Cox’s Bazar’, an association of the SSC-93 batch student, at Zara Convention Hall of Motel Upal in Cox’s Bazar town on Friday morning.
