‘CU should serve for establishing good governance’

The annual performance agreement organized by the Chittagong University administration in the 1st meeting of the participants in the establishment of good governance in the light of the National Purification Strategy Action Plan 2023-24 in Chittagong University (CU) was held on Wednesday afternoon at the conference room of the CU Vice-Chancellor's Office.  

Chittagong University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Shireen Akhtar presided over the meeting. CU Pro VC (Academic) Prof. Benu Kumar Dey. CU Law Faculty Dean Prof. Dr. Abdullah Al Farooq, CU Social Science Faculty Dean Prof. Siraj Ud Daullah and CU College Inspector (Acting) Prof. Dr. Shyamal Ranjan Chakraborty were also present at the meeting on Grievance Redressal Mechanism, Right to Information Action Plan and Citizenship Charter 2023-24.

In the beginning, CU Registrar (Acting) KM Noor Ahmad delivered the welcome speech.  APA focal point Shamima Akhtar Zafar moderated the event.

CU VC said that joint efforts of all along with good governance is essential to advance the university in all fields including knowledge and research.  In the light of the annual performance agreement, to strengthen the position of Chittagong University in all indicators including academic, administrative, everyone should strive to fulfil their responsibilities with honesty, transparency, devotion, sincerity, above all service mindedness.

She said, Chittagong University will definitely move forward if we work with mutual cooperation, solidarity and sincerity to achieve the goal.  

CU Vice-Chancellor expressed hope that specific directions and suggestions will come out through the speeches and discussions of the experts on the said subject.

Heads of different offices and departments of Chittagong University, heads of branches, students and journalists and related persons participated in the event.
