Chittagong University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Shireen Akhtar inaugurated the construction of 'Chittagong University Information Center' at the place adjacent to the CU main gate on Saturday under the initiative of the 21th batch of Chittagong University 'Amra Ekush' with the permission of the Chittagong University authorities.
CU Pro Vice-Chancellor (Academic) Professor Benu Kumar Dey and CU Registrar (Acting) Professor SM Monirul Hasan spoke on the occasion. Also speaking were 'Amra Ekush' CU Convenor President ANM Sarwar Alam, Member-Secretary Mohammad Mohiuddin Badal, Naogaon District Sessions Judge AKM Mozammel Haque Chowdhury Lenin, Tax Commissioner Barrister Mutasim Billah Farooki.
CU VC said, the steps taken by us Ekush batch students for the development of the university on their own initiative is highly commendable.
After completing their education from Chittagong University, students of different batches are working in various government and private institutions in the country and abroad. It is a matter of great joy and pride for the CU family. Students of other batches like Ekush batch should also play a role in the overall development of the university. Called to continue such philanthropic activities of twenty one batch.
Deans of various faculties of CU, provosts of halls, department presidents and directors of institutes, proctors and assistant proctors, distinguished teachers, twenty one batch members, office heads, print and electronic media journalists were present at the inauguration ceremony.
Its mentioned noted that students, parents and guests will get a basic idea about the university through this information center which is being built for the first time in Chittagong University. In this multi-storied information center built in modern architectural style, all CU departments, institutes, residential halls and all information related to the university will be available under one roof.
