CU celebrates World Mental Health Day

 A two-day program was inaugurated by CU Department of Psychology on the occasion of 'World Mental Health Day' under the theme 'Mental health protection and well-being for all is a global priority'.

 On this occasion, Chittagong University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Shireen Akhtar inaugurated a colourful rally in front of CU Bangabandhu Square on Monday morning after a brief discussion.  CU Pro Vice-Chancellor (Academic) Professor Benu Kumar Dey and CU Biology Faculty Dean Professor Dr Tauhid Hossain spoke as special guests.  Dr Rumana Akhtar, President of CU Department of Psychology presided over the discussion.  Lailun Nahar, Assistant Professor of Psychology Department conducted the program.

 CU Registrar (Acting) Professor SM Monirul Hasan, CU Teachers Association Acting President Professor Abdul Haque and General Secretary Professor Dr Sajib Kumar Ghosh, Acting Proctor Dr Shahidul Islam and Assistant Proctors, teachers, students, officials of Psychology Department and other departments were present.

 CU VC said, body-mind relationship is very close.  Not only if the body is good;  Peace of mind is very important in leading a healthy life.

 She said that the global epidemic Corona has adversely affected the mental health of people worldwide.  To get rid of this, he advised students to be more involved in various socio-cultural activities besides academic education. CU Vice-Chancellor wished the success of the two-day programs organized by the CU Department of Psychology on the occasion of World Mental Health Day and announced the inauguration of the program by flying a dove as a symbol of peace.

  On the occasion of Mental Health Day, Life Coach Bangladesh presented an honorary crest to the CU Vice-Chancellor.
