CU ‘Bangla Sammilan’ 5th reunion held

The 5th reunion organized by Bangla Sammilan, the alumni organization of Chittagong University Bangla Department, was held on Saturday at the Chittagong University campus through various programs throughout the day.

  The program included - joy rally, commemoration, felicitation, raffle draw and cultural programs etc.  Chittagong University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Shireen Akhtar, former student of CU Bangla Department, inaugurated the reunion program as the chief guest.

CU Pro Vice-Chancellor (Academic) Professor Benu Kumar Dey was present as special guest. CU Bangla Sammilan president Poet Ovik Osman presided over and acting president Poet Biswajit Chowdhury addressed the opening ceremony of CU Bangla Department President Dr Taslima Begum, CU Bangla Department Professor Dr Mohammad Mohibul Aziz, Bangla Department Retired Professor Dr Mohammad Nurul Amin, Bangla Sammilan General Secretary Jinnah  Chowdhury and Dr Mahmudul Alam.  The program started with the National Anthem.

 CU VC said, 'Today old faces have come together and the university campus has become one'.  'Bangla Sammilan' is the organization of my life.  I am proud to be a member of this organization.

  She said, 'CU Bangla department is a nice department, I am forever indebted to the bangla department.  I can never forget the contribution of this department in getting established in life. 

 She urged everyone, young and old, to take this organization forward. Gets very emotional when  close to his old teammates.  Despite being busy with his duties as the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Bangla kept in regular contact with the players of the reunion and wished the success of the reunion event.
