Chittagong University (CU) has approved an estimated budget of Tk 360.79 crore for the financial year 2021-22.
The budget was approved at the 57th joint meeting of the university's finance committee and syndicate in the conference room of the CU vice-chancellor on Sunday.
The meeting was held under the chairmanship of CU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Shirin Akhtar. Vice-Chancellor Prof Benu Kumar Dey, Syndicate Member SM FazlulHaque, Prof. Dr. Kazi SM Khasrul Alam Quddusi, Prof Dr AKM Mainul Haque Miaji, Prof Dr Mohammad Nasim Hasan, Prof Dr Mohammad Mahibul Aziz and others were present on the occasion.
Syndicate Secretary CU Registrar (Acting) Prof. SM Monirul Hasan and FC Member Prof. Abu Muhammad Atiqur Rahman, Prof Dr Sultan Ahmed, Prof Dr Md Selim Uddin.
Professor Dr Shirin Akhtar said that in order to take the university forward, education and research should be given utmost importance. With this goal in mind, the present administration is working relentlessly to implement it by formulating a specific action plan.
CU Vice-Chancellor said the budget has reflected various aspects in the development of academic, administrative and physical infrastructure by ensuring full honesty, transparency and accountability to take the university forward. In the wake of the ongoing Corona epidemic, online teaching activities for university students continue.
Apart from this, the unfinished examinations of different departments of the university are being held in accordance with proper hygiene rules and social distance which will play an important role in resolving session congestion.
