Chattogram Zila Parishad Chairman ATM Pearul Islam on Thursday called upon the government to allocate Tk 500 crore to make Chattogram a modern and advanced smart city.
“Zila Parishad's own income is not enough to carry out extensive development activities.
Therefore, we are trying to increase the income of the district council through various initiatives.” The chairman said in the monthly meeting of Chattogram Zila Parishad at circuit house auditorium in the city.
A detailed discussion on the recovery of the land property owned by the Zila Parishad and the adoption of these income-generating projects, the modification of the types and names of various projects of the Zila Parishad, the adoption of development projects for the last quarter of the fiscal year was discussed in the meeting.
