Chittagong WASA MD Engineer AKM Fazlullah has been proposed to extend the term of MD for another four years in the fourth phase.
The decision was taken at the WASA special board meeting held on Monday.
Engineer AKM Fazlullah has been the Managing Director (MD) of Chittagong WASA for almost nine years. He was last appointed for a third term on October 31 in 2017.
According to sources, 12 out of 13 members were present at the meeting held on Monday. Everyone is in favor of extending the tenure of Chittagong WASA MD.
The meeting also discussed ways to automate the bill payment system and streamline the revenue section to increase WASA's revenue.
Chittagong WASA board member Mohsin Kazi said the meeting discussed the extension of WASA MD deadline. Everyone has agreed on this.
The board also discussed ways to reduce non-revenue water to single digits, streamline the revenue section and automate the billing system.’
He said that WASA has decided to plant 1 lakh saplings on the occasion of Mujib Year.
