To ensure the safe and comfortable travel of people heading home on the occasion of the upcoming holy Eid-ul-Fitr, the Chattogram Railway District Police has started a month-long special awareness activity. Recently, this activity is being conducted under the direction of Chattogram Railway District Police Superintendent Tahura Jannat. This awareness is being made among passengers at various points on the Chattogram-Cox's Bazar route.

According to Railway Police sources, due to the increased pressure of passengers on trains during Eid, various effective steps have been taken to prevent possible sabotage, stop stone-throwing on moving trains, suppress the activities of ignorant and malicious parties and ensure the overall safety of passengers.

Regular patrols of the Railway Police have been strengthened to prevent stone-throwing on moving trains, especially on the Chattogram-Cox's Bazar route. Beat policing activities have been increased in risky areas and police members have been kept on alert in important railway lines and station areas.

In addition, local people are being made aware through miking in different areas.  Religious institutions, mosques, madrasas and various educational institutions are being visited to inform students and the general public about train safety, caution when crossing railway lines and the harmful effects of throwing stones at moving trains.

Intelligence surveillance has been increased to prevent any kind of sabotage on the railways and special operations are being conducted at various places. In addition, local people have been urged to cooperate with the Railway Police by providing information about any suspicious activities.

Chattogram Railway District Police said that the pressure of homebound passengers will increase around Eid. Therefore, the Railway Police is on the highest alert to ensure the safe and smooth travel of passengers.

Meanwhile, passengers have also demanded effective steps to prevent ticket black marketing. A job holder named Jasim said, “The activity of ticket black marketing increases online and offline during Eid. Sometimes, tickets are collected by hacking websites or dishonestly and sold at higher prices. It is important to increase the vigilance of the concerned authorities in this regard.”

Chattogram Railway District Police is determined to ensure the overall safety of railway passengers, said concerned officials.
