Ctg Press Club honours July fighters, martyrs’ families

Chattogram  Press Club has honoured the families of martyrs and July fighters in the July movement. In addition, it has organised a week-long special programme me to commemorate the July mass uprising.

The programme me includes the role of youth, thoughts of the current generation, photo exhibition, honouring July fighters, exchange of experiences, role of journalists, legal analysis, etc. On the closing day, there is an open rally titled ‘Journey from July – Unity of Struggle’.

The week-long programme me organized at the July Revolution Memorial Hall of the Press Club was inaugurated by the Chief Advisor’s Press Secretary Mohammad Shafiqul Alam in a video message on Monday morning. The week-long programme  began with a colorful seminar and discussion meeting titled ‘July Awakening: Collective Bright Resistance’.

In his opening message, the Press Secretary said that Chattogram  is the birthplace of the movement struggle.  From the anti-British movement, our great declaration of independence to the anti-fascist Hasina July movement last year, Chattogram  has played a leading role in all fields. It has led the nation, shown the right path. 

He said that the week-long programme  organized by the Press Club will be published and broadcast in all the media of the country and people of the country and abroad will be able to learn many new things about the July movement. 

Later, he announced the inauguration of the programme . 

Chattogram  Deputy Commissioner and  Press Club interim committee convener Farida Khanam presided the inaugural programme .  The event moderated by member secretary of the committee, journalist Mia Mohammad Arif.

 Premier University VC Professor Nasrul Kabir, Metropolitan BNP Joint Convener Ahmedul Alam Chowdhury Rasel, former Metropolitan Jamaat Ameer Md. Shahjahan Chowdhury, journalist Osman Gani Mansur, Press Club Interim Committee Member Secretary Journalist Zahidul Karim Kochi, Dr. Khurshid Jamil, Chattogram  South District BNP leader Professor Sheikh Md. Mohiuddin, journalist Saleh Noman, Coordinator Russell Ahmed, Dil Afroz, Omar Faruk Sagar, Rezwan Siddiqui, Shafi Alam, father of Chattogram's first martyr Wasim, Sima Akhter, wife of Shahid Omar Faruk, Kohinur Akhter, mother of Shahid Faisal Ahmed Shanto were present.

Deputy Commissioner Farida Khanam said, July warriors are a spark for us.  They will be respected throughout their lives, studied by the next generation. 

She said, the country will be run on the basis of merit and ability, the July Declaration will be implemented and the fascists will be tried. We want to overcome the crisis with everyone's cooperation. 

At the ceremony, the martyr families and coordinators of Chattogram  were awarded honorary crests. The Deputy Commissioner distributed these crests.
