Rewards are being given every month to encourage the use of e-files (electronic files) instead of the usual documents or files in the official work of Chittagong Port.
Last October, Jubayer Ahmed, Chief Assistant, drography Department, Chittagong Port Authority, was awarded for using the highest e-file.
Chairman of Chittagong Port Authority Rear Admiral M Shahjahan handed over the award at the conference room of Bandar Bhaban on Wednesday.
Board members, directors and department heads of the port were present at the time. Prizes include cash and certificates.
A meeting of the ethics committee, chaired by Rear Admiral M Shahjahan, chairman of the port authority, decided to award the highest e-file user per month on September 20.
The government is emphasizing on the use of e-files to ensure mobility, transparency and accountability in all departments through the use of information technology. The Cabinet Division has given all the necessary instructions in this regard. Reacting to the award, Jubayer Ahmed said the port initiative would be a milestone. Receiving this award will encourage my colleagues to use more e-files.
