Coordinators of anti-discrimination student movement and officials of Chattogram District Administration visited the family of martyr Md Alam who was shot dead at Monsurabad police lines in Chattogram city on August 5 during the anti-discriminatory student movement.
They visited his family at their home on Monday. The relatives of Md Alam broke into tears at that time. One of the main coordinators of anti-discriminatory student movement in Chattogram, Omar Faruk Sagar, consoled and assured them to stand by the family in time of any need.
Moreover, cash assistance was provided to martyr Alam’s family and they were given assurance about standing beside them in the future as well on behalf of the Deputy Commissioner.
Executive Magistrate of the district administration Md Ishtiak, Md Al Amin, one of the main coordinators of Chattogram anti-discriminatory student movement Md Omar Faruq Sagar and other coordinators were present at that time.
Later, they prayed at the grave of martyr Md Alam.
After paying tribute at the grave, coordinator Omar Faruk said trace of thousands like Alam remained unknown whose sacrifice helped us to achieve the victory. Md Alam paved a way for a state without discrimination with his sacrifice. He said wherever you see corruption, irregularities and injustice you have to prevent it immediately. We got united and became able to oust the fascist government. In the same way, we will stand against injustice and irregularities in the future as well. If you stay united, you will see that any fascist power will not get space to escape.
He also said that he is beside the family of martyr Alam in any need. He requested everyone to stand by the families of those who were killed during the student movement.
Earlier, the coordinators of anti-discriminatory student movement went to martyr Md Alam’s house when they got the news. They assured the family about providing assistance.
Coordinators Md Omar Faruk Sagar, Muajhidul Islam, Md Hridoy, Jahangir, Md Shipon, Md Salman and others were present at that time.
It is mentionable that Md Alam died at Chattogram Ma-O-Shishu Hospital after being shot at Monsurabad police lines under Double Mooring Thana in Chattogram on August 5 during the anti-discriminatory student movement. He was a labourer. His son reads in tenth grade and his daughter reads in fifth grade.
