Before leaving for upcoming series against New Zealand, some cricketers of Bangladesh national team got vaccinated to protect themselves and their family from coronavirus. After being vaccinated with his wife, ODI skipper Tamim Iqbal said that the vaccination process is being handled very well. As a Bangladeshi, he considers himself lucky to have been vaccinated so early.

Special arrangements were made for cricketers who got vaccinated on Thursday morning at the Kurmitola General Hospital. Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) president Nazmul Hasan Papon was also present to watch the cricketers get vaccinated.

Tamim came with his wife Ayesha Siddique. Soumya Sarkar brought his wife Priyanti Debnath. Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Naeem Sheikh, Nasum Ahmed and Taskin Ahmed were also present for vaccination.

After getting vaccinated, Tamim told the media, “The way our government is conducting the process is very encouraging. Actually we always point out different kinds of negative things of our government but this is one thing I think we should appreciate. It is happening so beautifully.”

The ODI captain said that almost all his family members have been vaccinated in the meantime. “I salute everyone who is involved," he said. It's a great experience. Not only for me, but also for my friends, family members who have registered and took the vaccine, the whole process is very smooth.”

‘I want to congratulate those who are involved with it. As far as I know, we are at number 12 as a country in terms of getting vaccination. At the end of this month, I think we may be in the top 4 or 5. I think it's a huge achievement. "

‘It seems to me that everyone involved should be thanked. Our Prime Minister has done this thing well for everyone. Thanks to her too. '

Meanwhile, Tamim was also hesitant about whether to get vaccinated at first. However, talking to the doctors of the BCB removed all his doubts, “the thing about vaccination is that if you know how helpful it is for you then I think your fear will be reduced. I will not deny that I was afraid. When the first approach was made, I was not sure whether to take it or not. But after talking to the BCB and when many people suggested that it is normal to have syndromes, it seemed to me that I could take it.”
