CPA hands over Eid incentives to 6721 workers

Each worker gets Tk 7,000

Chittagong Port Authority (CPA) disbursed special incentives to 6721 workers involved in berth, terminal and ship handling activities on the occasion of upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr. 

It has been decided to provide incentives of Tk 4 crore 70 lakh 47 thousand taka to 6721 registered workers of Chittagong Port. Each of the workers got Tk 7,000, the port officials said.

CPA Chairman Rear Admiral Mohammad Sohail distributed the incentives among 15 workers in cash at a brief ceremony in front of the port's administrative building on Tuesday afternoon while cheques were issued through the berth operators, terminal operators and ship handling operators for the remaining workers.

On this occasion, Chittagong Port Member (Engineering) Commodore Mohammad Mahbubur Rahman, Member (Harbour and Marine) Commodore M Fazlar Rahman, all department heads, Berth, Ship and Terminal Operators Association President Fazle Akram Chowdhury and Chittagong Port Employees Council leaders and workers were present.

CPA Chairman said Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman always thought about the well-being of the labourers and hard-working people. His daughter Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina also gave utmost importance to the improvement of the quality of labourers’s life. She believes that it is not possible to continue the development of the country without improving the quality of life of the workers. 

It has been decided to provide a special incentive for Eid-ul-Fitr on behalf of the Chittagong Port, in addition to paying a bonus by the owners so that the workers and employees of Chittagong Port, one of the partners in the implementation of this development progress, can enjoy Eid holiday a little better.
