The rate of corona infections is increasing in Cox's Bazar. The crisis is growing in hospitals. In this situation, the district police have launched a free ambulance service for Corona patients in Cox's Bazar district.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Hasanuzzaman officially inaugurated the humanitarian service on Tuesday morning.
During the inauguration, he said that corona infection has been constantly increasing. Members of the Bangladesh Police as frontline fighters have been working day and night to control the spread of corona infection. Besides, various types of humanitarian activities are also being carried out.
SP Hasanuzzaman said that the free humanitarian service with oxygen cylinders has been introduced to transport corona patients or people with corona symptoms to the hospital. We will continue our efforts to alleviate the sufferings of the people during the corona infection, he added.
Additional Superintendent of Police Rafiqul Islam said that if the patients or relatives affected by corona call the police control room numbers 01320109394 and 0341-64048, the free ambulance will reach at their doorsteps immediately. This service is only for Cox's Bazar.
Additional Superintendent of Police (Headquarters) Pankaj Barua, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Sadar Model Police Station Sheikh Munir-ul-Gias and Officer-in-Charge (OC) of District Detective Branch (DB) Sheikh Mohammad Ali were also present on the occasion.
A free ambulance service was launched on June 17 last year at the initiative of the district police under the leadership of the then Superintendent of Police ABM Masud Hossain and Additional Superintendent of Police Mohammad Iqbal Hossain during the Corona epidemic crisis.
At the same time, the Corona Assistance Fund was launched at the initiative of the district police. Various items including food were delivered to the people of different classes and professions of the district at that time. This initiative of the district police was appreciated by the common people.
