Cox’s Bazar observes Int’l Day of Forests

International Day of Forests was celebrated on Tuesday in Cox's Bazar with the slogan of healthy forest ensures healthy body and mind.

To celebrate the day, Cox's Bazar Forest Department, Channel Eye's Nature and Life Foundation and Sufal Project have taken up various programmes.

On Tuesday morning, a colorful rally took out from Cox's Bazar Forest Building on the occasion of International Day of Forests. The rally goes around the main road of the city and ends at Bon Bhavan.

Cox's Bazar North and South Forest Depart­ment, Sufal Project and Prakhar Jeevan Foundation jointly organized a discussion on the occasion of International Day of Forests on Tuesday afternoon.

Divisional Forest Officer of Cox's Bazar North Forest Division Mohammad Anwar Hossain gave a welcome speech at the beginning of the meeting held under the chairmanship of Sarkar, Assistant Conservator of Forests Cox's Bazar North Forest Division Dr Tarnosh Chandra Roy.

Mohammad Sarwar Alam, Divisional Forest Officer of Cox's Bazar South Forest Division spoke as the chief guest in the discussion meeting. 

Highlighting the significance of International Forest Day, Necom Eco-Life Project Deputy Project Director Dr Shafiqur Rahman, Senior Reporter of The Daily Star Muhammad Ali Jinnat, Staff Reporter of Channel I and Dainik Umer Zaam and Correspondent of Bangladesh Post Sarwar Azam Manik, President of Cox's Bazar Forest and Environment Conservation Council Deepak Sharma Dipu, Journalist Abu Sayem, Mehergona Range Officer Mohammad Riaz Rahman, Cox's Bazar Range Officer Sameer Ranjan Saha and others also spoke.

In the discussion meeting, representatives of different categories of professions related to forest along with range officers of different ranges of forest department, staff of different offices participated.
