The police had seized two cows from a village in Bheramara upazila of Kushtia on Tuesday. Eight cows along with other belongings were looted from the house of a farmer at Bishoykhali village in Jhenidah Sadar upazila on June 14 last night.
Additional superintendent of police in Jhenidah Sadar circle Abul Bashar said following information, the police men of Jhenidah Sdar thana conducted drive at Bheramara in Kushtia on Tuesday and seized two of the eight looted cows.
The police man said a gang of robbers had entered in to the house of Sultan Mia at the village and looted eight cows and other belongings in the night of June 14. The robbers left the spot loading the goods on a pick up van. They had confined seven inmates in a house during robbery.
One of the affected filed a case with Jhenidah Sadar police station in this connection. The police so far arrested two of the robbers and seized a mobile phone. The arrested duo had given their confessional statement about the robbery.
Police super (SP) Hasanuzzaman, additional SP Abul Bashar, Jhenidah Sadar police station officer in charge Mizanur Rahman, Jhenidah press club president M Raihan and officer in charge operation Emdadul Haque among others remain present during handing over the cows to their master, additional SP said
