The world is currently witnessing wave after wave of the deadly coronavirus pandemic. According to a report published in this daily on Saturday, coronavirus state in our country has also taken a worrying turn again. The recent spike mainly occured as the Bangladeshis stranded in India are crossing the border illegally to enter Bangladesh.
Now to curb the infection rate, government has announced lockdown, hoping that the virus will somewhat be tamed. However, it will not be over if we do not strictly implement the necessary precautions needed.
The government should take all the
required measuers to contain the
spread of Covid-19 before it is too late
Firstly, the High Commissions of Bangladesh in India should pave an easier way for the stranded Bangladeshis so that they can easily enter their country. Government should also ensure that the strict lockdown is maintained in those badly-hit covid divisions near the Indian borders.
The upcoming lockdown announced in the capital should be strictly followed, any kind of vehicle movement except the emergency services, should be barred in and out of Dhaka city.
BGB’s extensive patrolling in the border areas should be consistently maintained. Hospitals in bordering areas and also in Dhaka need to be provided with sufficient equipment and manpower so that they can fight the unannounced war against corona efficiently. The government should take all the required measuers to contain the spread of Covid-19 before it is too late.
