Covid infection rate spikes in Cox’s Bazar

Cox's Bazar district has recorded the highest number of detections in the Covid-19 test on Friday. In Cox's Bazar, Covid-19 test of 628 people found Covid-19 virus in the body of 238 people. This is the highest detection record in the district since the Corona test began in Cox's Bazar in March last year.

According to the Cox's Bazar Civil Surgeon's Office, six people underwent Covid-19 examination at the PCR lab of Cox's Bazar Medical College Hospital on Friday morning. This resulted in positive reports in the corona test of 204 people. On the other hand, Cox's Bazar District Sadar Hospital on Friday received a rapid antigen test of 61 Covid-19 tests and 32 Covid-19 positive reports.

Cox's Bazar Sadar Upazila has 103 patients with corona detection which is the highest detection record in this upazila so far. Besides, the second highest number of 83 identified Rohingya patients.

Cox's Bazar Medical College Hospital Assistant Professor Mohammad Shahjahan Nazir of the Department of Infectious Diseases said that corona infection is increasing despite the administration’s various initiatives and lockdowns to control the corona infection situation. Which is really worrying. He blames ordinary people for not wearing masks and not following health rules.

In Cox's Bazar district, 138 people were infected with corona on July 6, 212 on July 7 and 18 on July 7. At present, the detection rate of Cox's Bazar infection is close to 30 percent of the total tests.

Sources at the Cox's Bazar Civil Surgeon's Office said a total of 13,575 people have been infected with the corona virus in Cox's Bazar district so far. 11 thousand 480 people have recovered. So far 135 people have died due to corona. Among them there are 21 Rohingyas.
