Covid hits U-18 women booters

Ahead to begin the campaign of the SAFF Under-18 women football championship, one player and two officials of the team tested positive for Covid-19 after their arrival on Saturday in Jamshedpur, India. 

Bangladesh are scheduled to play their first match against Nepal on March 17 while India are the other team off three teams tourney.

According to Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) that all the members of the team are asymptomatic and will have to take another round tests when the time will be decided today (Monday). 

All the players and the team officials will have to stay at their respective room of the team hotel and have to maintain the isolation. BFF also informed that all the members of the team vaccinated at least two times and none of them has any Covid-19 symptom in their body.    

But the BFF did not disclosed the names of the two team officials and the player, who found Covid positive. 

Meanwhile, as this time three teams are participating in the women’s age-group (Under-18) SAFF championship, each team will play twice against each other and the top of the points table will win the title.
