Covid-19 rate increasing in Noakhali

Covid-19 infection rate is doubling in Noakhali. In the last 24 hours till Wednesday noon, 61 more people have been affected by Covid-19 in the district, which is double that of the previous day. According to a report released by the district health department on Tuesday, 31 people were infected in the district. The total number of infected people is 21,169. The rate of new detection is 13.61 percent.

District Civil Surgeon Masum Iftekhar confirmed the information on Wednesday. 

Although the infection is increasing, the public awareness is not increasing. There are huge crowds of people in markets, shopping malls, sidewalks and roads in the district. Bus-CNG's public transport is also crowded. Passengers are going from one place to another without following the hygiene rules. Most people do not have a face mask.

According to the Civil Surgeon's Office, in the last three labs of the district, 448 samples were tested and 30 corona viruses were detected in Sadar Upazila, 1 in Subarnachar, 3 in Begumganj, 4 in Sonaimuri, 1 in Chatkhil, 3 in Senbagh, 18 in Companiganj and 3 in Kabirhat. 11 people have recovered in the last 24 hours. A total of 228 patients died in the district. There are 913 patients in isolation and 1 patient is being treated at Covid-19 Hospital.

He further added that everyone should follow the hygiene rules to prevent the transmission of Covid-19 virus. He urged people to use masks when outdoors. He called for avoiding riots and public gatherings to avoid infection.
