A court here today sentenced a man and his wife to death sentence for killing his mother in Kazipur Upazila of the district in 2016.
Judge of District Additional and Session Court-3 Kanij Fatema handed down the verdict to Abdus Samad, 65, hailed from Rehaishuribed village in the upazila and his wife Roshida Khatun, 60.
According to the prosecution on November 1 in 2016 the throat-split body of Fatema Khatun was recovered from their house located at Rehaishuribed village.Following the murder, victim's another son Abdur Rahim filed a case accusing a few unknown people. Being suspected, police arrested Samad and Roshida.
In their confessional statement, they said they killed their mother over family feud. Police pressed the charge sheet later accusing the duo.
Testifying witnesses and evidences the court gave the order in presence of Abdus Samad and Roshida.
