A man and his wife were reportedly have been stabbed to death at their Pallabi house in the capital city of Dhaka on Wednesday afternoon.
Shafiul Alam, officer-in-charge (OC) of Pallabi Police Station, said the victims were identified as Pappu, 34, and his wife Dolon Akter Dola, 29.
Police have detained a suspect Gaus Mia in connection with the double murder, who is an acquaintance of Dolon, the OC said.
Quoting neighbours, OC Shafiul said Gaus entered the couple's home around 1:00pm and stabbed them fatally.
Locals rushed in after hearing screams, detained the attacker at the scene, and handed him over to police.
The bodies were sent to Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital for post-mortem examination.
