The members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-11 in a raid at Mohammadia housing area in Dhaka arrested a fraud couple pretending to be the chairman and finance secretary of a fake organization named Jatiya Manabodhikar Unit on Wednesday night.
Arrestees are identified as Md. Ziaul Amin alias Harunar Rashid, 53, and his wife Doulotunnesa, 42, who were respectively claiming to be the chairman and finance secretary of the organization.
Additional police super of RAB-11 Md. Alepuddin in a media brief claimed that the arrestees have been cheating with people in the name of different arbitration, providing job and manage the high officials since 2011. RAB members recovered 42 fake seals of different officials, fake documents, a knife and a bamboo stick from their possessions.
They used to extort huge amount of money by setting people in traps. Moreover, if any victim tried to stand up against them they used to file false harassment case against them. Arrested Ziaul Amin alias Harunar Rashid is an accused of a murder case at Pathorghata thana in Borguna. He left his native district after indictment in Debronjon Kirtonia murder case of 2007. He opened three NGOs in different name in 2011 and the social welfare ministry cancelled his NGO registration in 2014 but he continued running the NGOs in full swing and collecting money through them. RAB-11 received complaints against them and accordingly arrested the fraud couple running Jatiya Manaboddikar Unit organization in a raid. A criminal case has been recorded with concerned police station in this regard.
