A tragic accident has left husband and wife dead at Sadarpur in Faridpur. The couple descended into the septic tank to retrieve a bamboo shoot and suffocated to death at about 10:00 am on Friday at Brahmandi village.
According to locals, Miraz Howlader was a Saudi expatriate. He had recently made a septic tank for his new home. On Friday morning, he went inside the tank to retrieve a bamboo shoot. But he fell ill right after entering the tank and his wife went in to save him. However she also fell ill.
Afterwards, locals broke the lid of the tank and rescued the couple. They were taken to the hospital and the doctor declared them dead. Locals said Miraz Howlader had been living in Saudi Arabia for a long time. He came back home last week.
