State Minister for Shipping Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury has said that Bangladesh was pushed into darkness by the assassination of Bangabandhu after the independence of the country.
“Generations after 1975 were not allowed to know the exact history of the Liberation War. Ziaur Rahman, Ershad and Khaleda Zia created a distorted education system and a corrupt social system in the country during their time,” he said.
The state minister was speaking as the chief guest at a discussion organized on the occasion of the 34th founding anniversary of Sheikh Russel National Council for Children and Adolescents at Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib Auditorium of National Museum in Shahbag on Sunday.
The state minister said, “Through the war of liberation the country became a nation of pride. We lost that by killing Bangabandhu. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is taking Bangladesh forward to build the golden Bengal desired by Bangabandhu.”
Under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the country has regained the pride that was lost. The world acknowledges Bangladesh today. We all have to swear to hold on to this place of pride, he added.
The state minister said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is taking Bangladesh to a place of high potential as Sheikh Russel National Council for Children and Adolescents is working with children and adolescents.
“Sheikh Russell National Council for Children and Adolescents has contributed to the love that has been created among the children of Bangladesh. True history knows the liberation war,” he said.
They are knowing the ideals of Bangabandhu and learning from life, the country’s immense potential and how Bangladesh became a role model, he added.
