The incumbent government’s quest of digitalising people’s lives is reaping its fruits. Digitalisation in every aspect of life is not only helping us economically but also propelling us towards more sustainable solutions in every phase.
People are now getting their desired services through digital platforms, students are learning online, farmers in remote areas can learn the prices of their farm products. Record keeping and financial, administrative, judicial, and many other auxiliary services as well are now obtained through using IT.

In that continuity, the country is stepping into the 5G era with Teletalk inaugurating experimental 5G test services in five areas across the country. However, the 5G network will not be available for everyone at this moment. To make it available, the authorities concerned will go for auction on March next for all mobile operators.
The spectrum department of BTRC has already allotted 60 megahertz (MHz) spectrum to Teletalk, a state-owned telecom company, on a refundable condition to launch 5G service as per the directive of the government.
This initiative is important for the future of Bangladesh and in building a digital society underpinned by 5G networks. We really appreciate and are invigorated by this striving step towards enhancing the quality of internet service to millions of people in our country. This is because in Bangladesh mobile internet is used by mass number of people and it has totally revolutionised the way our society and economy operate, from digital payments to social media it is everywhere.
We also know that 5G service will require expensive 5G phones. However, we still hope that our surging increasing economic growth and additional investment in necessary infrastructure will make it only a matter of time before 5G connectivity and usage becomes extensive. The introduction of 5G technology will open endless possibilities for our people.
