Bangladesh registered 117 more deaths from Covid-19 till 8am Friday, taking the total number of deaths to 25,846.
The country recorded 3,525new infections in the meantime taking the total number of people infected to 1,486,153, according to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Friday.
The death rate now stands at 1.74 percent in the country, added the release.
The current positivity rate stands at 12.78 percent and the overall positivity rate stands at 16.86 percent.
Among the 117 deceased, 56 were men, and 61 were women. Of the victims, 100 died in different hospitals across the country and sevendied at home.
40 of the deceased were from Dhaka division, 37 fromChattogram,11 from Khulna, 10from Sylhet, six from Barisal, five from Rangpur and four each were from Rajshahi and Mymensinghdivision.
A total of 27,578 samples were tested across the country till 8am Friday.
During this period 6,485Covid-19 patients have recovered. Up until now, a total of 1,404,370 people have recovered from the virus and the recovery rate stands at 94.50 percent.
As of Friday, 4,491,266 people died of Covid-19 across the world and 215,616,594 have been infected so far, according to Worldometer.
