Comilla University (CoU) Teachers’ Association has decided to boycott all class activities except the semester examination for the third time due to non-compliance of the seven-point demand.

It was informed on Wednesday through a press release signed by the president of the organization, Professor Dr. Md. Abu Taher and general secretary (acting) Mahmudul Hasan.

In this regard, the president of the teachers' association, Professor Dr. Md. Abu Taher, said, “Office activities were ongoing till the last 4th. We were waiting till then whether the vice chancellor would accept our demands. But instead of going towards any solution, he made negative comments about teachers in various media. In view of that, we (teachers’ association) are calling the teachers to refrain from class activities from 21st to 23rd April. We will hold a general meeting of the Executive Committee of the Teachers' Association on 23rd April. The next program will be decided in that meeting.”

In response to the question whether midterms, assignments are included in this class exclusion process, the president said, there will be a final exam (semester), but the rest of the midterms, presentations or assignments will include all subjects.

Earlier on March 12, in an emergency general meeting, seven points of demand and three decisions were presented. On the same day, for the first time, it was decided to boycott the class activities on March 13 and 14. Later on March 18, it was decided to boycott class activities from March 19 to 27 for the second time.
