The Comilla University (CoU) Teachers' Association declared a class boycott on March 13 and 14 to execute the seven-point demand. From March 19 to March 27, normal sessions were stopped, although evening classes continued. Students are outraged about this.
On Fridays and Saturdays, evening courses are conducted in several departments of the English and Business Education Faculty at Comilla University. Classes are claimed to have been held as usual last Friday and Saturday.
Students in normal classes complained that the teachers' organization only executed its announcements in regular classes; why not in the evening courses? On the condition of anonymity, a regular class student stated that only regular class learners are suffering as a result of the teachers' association's decision. They attend evening classes. Is teacher politics limited to regular-class students? Are we the only ones who suffered?
Another student said, "We already have session congestion. Such a choice on his part is causing us greater harm. Why don't we participate in the evening course?
In this respect, the general secretary (acting) of the teachers' association, Mahmudul Hasan, stated, "It is not contradictory." Because the announcement of the teachers' association occurred on Wednesday and Thursday. There were no more announcements. Consequently, Friday-Saturday programming were excused. Moreover, these are the executive programs of the university. It has nothing to do with normal activities. Executive programs are run for various audiences. Students here are not typical university students. Therefore, it has nothing to do with the core or regular operations of Comilla University.
