CoU postpones ongoing exams

The Comilla University authorities on Friday have postponed their ongoing undergraduate and postgraduate examinations due to the upsurge of Covid-19 situation, CoU registrar (additional in-charge) Prof Dr Md Abu Taher confirmed Bangladesh Post.

The decision was made on an Academic Council meeting following a recommendation of the university examination committee to halt the exam.

Registrar said, as the corona virus situation is being worsened day by day, the examination has been postponed until further notice.

Students who have already arrived in Cumilla for the purpose of examination will be transported to theirdivisional cities under the university’s own transport management, he added.

The University Treasurer, Proctorial body and Hall provosts have been assigned to synthesize the transportation schedule.

Earlier on June 13, the university started to take the semester final examinations in person as per its academic council’s decision. 

Meanwhile, some departments also started taking their midterm exams. As a result, public gatherings on the campus have been increased.

However, on June 24, the examination committee recommended postponing the tests.Reviewing the recommendation, the Academic Council took the final decision to postpone the examination.
