The students of Mass Communication and Journalism (MCJ) department of Comilla University (CoU) on Monday locked the main entrance of the admin building for around five hours demanding solutions to their classroom crisis.

They also held a symbolic class under the open sky in front of the admin building to press home to their demand. The students of the Department wanted to solving the class room crisis. Witnesses said, around 200 students of the department gathered in front of the admin building and locked the main entrance of it at around 8:30am.

‘There is only one classroom for five batches' students. We missed our practical classes due to the lacking of a lab room. Some spaces were allotted for us in the business faculty, but we couldn’t move there yet,’ said an agitating student. ‘We want an immediate solution to the crisis,’ he added.

Meanwhile, the department was orally allotted a floor in the business faculty building as the Information & Communication and Computer Science & Engineering departments, which were accommodated earlier in the faculty building, moved to a new one.

But the department couldn’t move to the business faculty building as the students of the faculty protested them from moving there as there’s also insufficient classrooms for them. Later, the students withdrew their agitation after the authorities assured them for looking into the matter within Thursday.
