The past couple of months have seen two unwanted deaths which have caused much pain in the minds of the public. The first being the brutal murder of Abrar Fahad at the BUET dormitory, and second the recent accidental death of Naimul Abrar through electrocution at Dhaka Residential Model School and College. The two incidents are totally separate with different contexts yet both very tragic.

In case of Abrar Fahad, the quick reaction and enforcement of the law by authorities is undoubtedly commendable and has spurred on a new wave of confidence on the law enforcing personnel. However, who is to take the responsibility of Naimul Abrar’s death? The students are pointing fingers towards the Kishor Alo management who reportedly had neglected to take prompt steps rather had made blunders which cost the life of this ninth grader.

The authorities concerned should take

note of this issue and provide adequate

policies so that no Abrar has to die in future

The atrocious murder of Abrar Fahad had some culprits who could be apprehended. But this time who is to be blamed and who will take responsibility? Undoubtedly it was an ill-fated incident but those present should have been well prepared in case something went wrong. Young children, if let loose, can become immersed in fun and merriment in the joyful atmosphere of a concert. It falls upon the shoulders of the management then to take care in case any mishap takes place.

However, so far three days have passed after the incident and no such initiative of taking responsibility has been seen. Who will take the responsibility of this incident? How can such mismanagement take place in a reputable school? Why was the student not taken to a nearby hospital?

These are some of the questions which are being thrown around on the social media by the classmates and friends of Abrar Fahad. Regardless, the margin of safety and precautions were very minimal during the concert which led to the unwanted death through unnatural causes of Naimul Abrar. The authorities concerned should take note of this issue and provide adequate policies so that no Abrar has to die in future, whether by brutality or by accidental causes.
