Khulna corona virus prevention committee in a meeting held here today decided to take legal action against violators of government health safety guidelines and other rules in the relaxed restriction in the lockdown just before and after Eid-ul-Azha, scheduled to be held on July 21, reports BSS.
Marking the E-d-ul-Azha, the committee organized the meeting at the deputy commissioner’s (DC) conference room as the Government relaxed lockdown from July 15 to July 22 to celebrate Eid.
With Khulna DC Moniruzzaman Talukder in the chair, committee members and Civil Surgeon Dr Newaz Mohammad, Director of Khulna Medical College Hospital (KMCH) Dr Robiul Hasan, Vice-Principal of Khulna City Medical College Dr Mehedi Newaz, Superintendent of Police in Khulna Mahbub Hasan, Deputy Commissioner of Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP) Ehsan Shah, Khulna Press Club President S M Zahid Hossain, Khulna Union of Journalists President Md Munshi Mahbub Alam Sohag, among others, addressed the meeting.
Moniruzzaman, also the District Magistrate, urged people to be self-aware of fighting against the deadly virus with government sponsored medicare facilities .
He also urged everybody to abide by health rules wearing mask at every public places including cattle markets, shopping malls, markets and mosques.
Later, the DC handed over TK 50,000 each to two ailing journalists from the Journalists welfare Trust.
